Tropical Weather Dicussion: (Updated Every 24-48 HRS, More Frequent if Necessary)
Tropical Storm Danny continues moving westward towards the Caribbean as of August 20th...and may eventual impact a few of the Caribbean islands as a tropical storm. Danny shows signs of organization this morning, and may briefly form into the season's first hurricane, before sizzling back to a tropical storm. If the system tracks into the Caribbean, it will weaken significantly and diminish early-mid next week. If the system tracks more towards the Atlantic, it will still weaken, but may have a shot at redevelopment towards the middle of next week. Currently, most models favor a Caribbean track...which makes sense for a weak system, typically taking a more zonal western track.
Any impacts on the US are expected to occur next week...and look minimal at this time, if any. Thus, a track will still not be issued by Northeastern Weather as of today. However, this page will be updated Saturday...and if anything in track or intensity forecasts changes...we will let you know.
